Examples of Fantasy film trailers
Conventions of a Fantasy film trailer
- Uses of fast and slow paced editing to show the journey of the character and their back story and the action they come across.
- 'Dream like' sense - uses of fade in and fade out (some times fade out to black and back into another scene)
- High key lighting used towards beginning to show the character in their typical and normal settings. Low key lighting during action parts and to show the characters journey throughout the trailer
- Plot lines assumed and kept basic, not to confuse the audience too much
Examples of Fantasy film posters:
Conventions of a Fantasy film poster:
- Low key lighting, brightened by uses of one main colour (usually blue or green)
- Main character surrounded by their 'fantasy world' to give the audience an insight to what the film is about
- Simple uses of text so that it doesn't take the audiences attention away from the image on the poster
- Character on the front usually seen with a weapon or or 'creature' from their world
