Within this trailer for the film 'One Day' there are many fades to black and white. I believe this is to show the beginning and end of the relationship between the characters. I think this type of editing transition will work well with our trailer as it will show the flashbacks of the character and the end of the relationship between the characters also.
The trailer for 'The Notebook' includes several dissolves. I believe these will also be effective within our romance trailer as it will show that each clip is linked and has some sort of connection in some way. This will be most effective when showing the two characters from 1940 and 2014 as it will show their relationship and that they are linked.
