- Voice overs narrating the characters love story
- Slow score - usually a piano or violin
- High key lighting
- Fade transitions to show the link between shots and the characters relationships. Also to make the trailer flow more smoothly and give a romantic effect

- Use of bright colours (usually red or pink which signify love and romance)
